“RING THE BELLS THAT STILL CAN RING
FORGET YOUR PERFECT OFFERING
THERE IS A CRACK IN EVERYTHING
THAT'S HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN"
Jane has been offering counseling services since 1991. The primary approach is narrative (the exploration of life stories and meaning) with an emphasis on mindfulness and self-awareness practices.
ABOUT
JANE ASHLEY, LPC
Jane approaches her work with people from the perspective that the problems they are struggling with in their lives are not who they are. The problem is the relationship they have with their suffering. Collaborative work helps to heal old wounds, and to build on dreams, hopes and what we value in our lives. Much of the process is inspiring, spirit-nurturing and fun. She has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in private practice for 25 years.
Jane works with clients from age 15 through age 105.
Clients who benefit most from working with Jane are creative and interested in freeing themselves from the constraints of family, social and cultural expectations that have become internalized and held as truths. Her therapeutic approach is known as narrative therapy (which incorporates some aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy, but in a client-centered way). Another strong influence in her work work is Buddhist philosophy. Her formal educational training is a master’s degree and licensure in counseling and marriage and family therapy. Jane has also done 20 years of post-licensure training in narrative therapy. To find out more about narrative therapy, visit www.narrativeapproaches.com.
